About us
Our History
In 2017 when Buckeye Lake was on the rebound, founder Jeryne Peterson, partner/owner at the Buckeye Lake Shopper Reporter, recognized a lack of unified online information for the region. Acting as an outlet for information about all things Buckeye Lake, EXPLORE BUCKEYE LAKE helped promoted the Lake’s businesses, events, and the Lake-lifestyle through REGIONAL advertising and public relations. EXPLORE BUCKEYE LAKE includes special seasonal highlights and a rotating calendar of events which creates a forum for tourism that spans three counties and the surrounding villages and townships.
Jeryne commented in the early stages of the project, “With all of the attention being paid to Buckeye Lake’s infrastructure and economic development, we’re so excited to be filling that void of visitor and business information for the tri-county region – bringing the Buckeye Lake business community into the 21st century.”
Our Mission
In 2019 EXPLORE BUCKEYE LAKE received its 501(c)(3) status and shifted focus to educate the public on the history, geography, and present opportunities in and around Buckeye Lake. The organization is guided by a Board of Directors.
